Audrey, Our Cover Girl

Audrey,Our Cover Girl: On September 26, 2009, the Philippines was hit by the deadly fury of the typhoon Ondoy (international codename: Ketsana). It started as a seemingly harmless continuous downpour, which, however, raised the water levels of the dams of the metropolis. Eleven of my family members, including Audrey, who was only four months old then, were victims of Ondoy. In the midst of this tragic experience is God’s providence shown in the face of Audrey. Audrey’s mother related, “The wind was strong and it was drizzling. I felt I was carrying an angel in Audrey while wading through the floodwater on the first floor roofing of our house, which was less than a meter in width, to go to our neighbor’s house. Her assuring smile was like God telling me, ‘Be not afraid.’”
