Eric Leroy Burt, was born in Newark, New Jersey, under the sign of Gemini. His earliest love was for the sounds of music. Eric was drawn to the music of Ray Charles, James Brown, Otis Redding, Ella Fitzgerald and many, many others. At age 5 he was introduced to playing music by his older brother. His brother played the drums and Eric took to banging on anything he could find in the house. At age 8 he began learning music in grade school and by the age of 12 had learned to read and play the Clarinet and Saxophone. His brother suggested to him that he learn to play the Bass Guitar. Being encouraged by his brother’s words, Eric worked 3 small jobs and saved his money to purchase his very own Bass Guitar and amplifier. Within 1 year, he began playing in bands, leading to studios and performing live. Although his music didn’t lead to a career, this was his passion and to this day he still enjoys music of all types. In 2003, Eric went through a period in his life that he struggled with and began to write his feelings down. One write lead to another and “Inside the Soul of Me” was born from a collection of poems and prose. Eric speaks from his heart and this can be read and felt in his words. Some of these writes will make you laugh, while some may make you cry. There are even several that will give you something to think about, but each one conveys his feelings and emotions in a particular time. See for yourself who Eric is inside his soul and enjoy his first publication, as he speaks to you from his heart…
