CHAPTER 1--
I can’t say I liked my new job but it paid the bills. It was funny because that was my job, not paying bills but collecting on them. There are more dangerous occupations out there but none quite as stressful as being a bill collector. When asked to pay, most debtors will scream obscenities, or threaten violence and then cry harassment if you try to retaliate. The collection manager, Mr. Peterson didn’t offer much support either, he loved me when my numbers were high and resented me when they were below the industry standard. Not even the best bill collector can control or predict what the debtor is going to do. If one had that kind of power they could change the weather with just a simple thought.
