A group of colonists, upset with overtaxation and under-representation plan to declare themselves a free and independent nation. First, however, they must somehow defeat the most powerful nation on earth. History? No, Patriots and Heroes is the comic saga of the Second American Revolution. The colonists here are American citizens; the motherland is the United States of America. Leading the colonists are Danny Clifton, an earnest but somewhat inept young man who, despite a multitude of jobs, has yet to find his niche in life, and Artemus Beecher, a self proclaimed “man of the streets,” whose schemes and scams always seem to go wrong. The man who must stop them is President Albert J. Smith, a pig farmer turned politician who, through a series of unexpected events, has found himself in the oval office. The president must overcome not only the colonists, but members of his own party, who feel the president is much better suited to tending hogs than the affairs of the nation. Will the colonists win their independence? Will the president prevail and prove that a pig farmer can also be an effective president? Patriots and Heroes provide the hilarious answers.
Danny Clifton was pissed; pissed and more than a little scared. For the third time in less than six months, he had been called to his superisor's office and told his work was not up to "acceptable company standards," whatever the hell that meant.
