Outskirts Press submits your cover image to Ingram at the time of publication. Ingram, in turn, distributes your cover image to online retailers like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Did you know it can take about 30 days (even up to 45 days in some cases) for your cover to automatically appear on Amazon after the title is published? This is because it can take some time for the data to transfer from Ingram's system to Amazon's.

For many authors, this delay is no big deal. But for others, they have marketing efforts underway and they need their cover image up on Amazon sooner.

Outskirts Press has the solution!  By manually interfacing directly with Amazon, we can over-ride Amazon and Ingram's automatic process and get your cover image on Amazon much faster, usually within 2-3 business days rather than the standard 30-45 days.

If you are anxious to begin your marketing efforts, but want to ensure your cover is showing on Amazon before you begin, this option is for you. 

But wait!  There's even more to the Amazon Cover Enhancement option.

Imagine if your cover image could be LARGER and MORE EYE-CATCHING on the Amazon search results pages.  We can make that happen, too!  The fact is, most people won't search for your book by title or by your name. They will search on Amazon for a keyword or phrase that captures their interest. Does your cover stand out when it shows up among other books in search results?

BEFORE

A 6×9 rectangular book cover is not OPTIMAL for use within a 260 x 260 square space. So, the solution is to provide Amazon with a different, Amazon-optimized cover graphic  – one that is square rather than rectangular. Of course, most books are rectangular (portrait) so this means the appearance of the cover must be "changed."

With the Amazon Cover Enhancement option you have the option of having a modified version of your cover uploaded to Amazon for this purpose. Outskirts Press can create a square graphic of your cover to maximize the graphic space for your book on Amazon.

If your book cover is not yet on Amazon, we will contact you to ask you whether you want your "normal" cover uploaded faster, or whether you want the "enhanced square" version created and uploaded faster.

On the other hand, if your cover is already on Amazon, we will assume you want the enhanced cover graphic created and uploaded.
