When a family falls on hard times and must relocate, three children have to leave their old friends far behind and face a new school. For Andrew, the beginning of first grade comes with its own special fears. What he encounters, though, is the worst kind of rejection—not only from his schoolmates but from a teacher who has racial prejudice in her heart.
When his mom asks Andrew to pray to God to bring a loving friend into his life, his whole world begins to change for the better. One day when she goes to pick up Andrew from school, he introduces her to his new friend—a beautiful boy named Angel, who certainly seems to be heaven sent.

Laverne Gray Trembinsky has a passion for writing life stories about her family and friends, as well as experiences she has had along her life’s journey. She has worked as a Program Assistant at Loma Linda University Medical Center for the past eight years in the Adult Health Services Department. This has given her, she says, a depth of compassion through which she is able to convey her personal stories. She is a mother of three wonderful adult children, who have beautiful families of their own, and a wonderful husband who enjoys reading her stories and award-winning poetry.
