Apparition

She’s as solid as a cirrus cloud,
And none will know her fate.
She floats and sings your name aloud,
Touch her and she’ll dissipate.
None can guess her direction,
And none will know her course.
A nomad since conception;
She’ll vanish without remorse.
She’s a ghost,
And her presence is a haunting disguise.
You think you hold her in your arms,
But mere vapor fills your eyes.
Don’t give your heart into her hands,
Don’t cling to her façade.
She’ll crush every dream you’ve had,
And leave you cursing God.
I thought I saw a vision,
But she’s an apparition.
