Cynthia Rose Lane was born in a small town in South Georgia. Even though she grew up in a family of eight children, she spent a great deal of time alone, reading, writing, and daydreaming. These activities increased her love for the power and beauty of the written word. She credits her father, a minister, for being the catalyst for her spiritual and philosophical explorations. Her love for reading, writing, music, and introspection came from her mother, who was a woman of extraordinary artistic abilities. A graduate of Morris Brown College and Valdosta State University, Cynthia has been a high school teacher, professional singer, jazz band owner, and business owner.
