The stories within this book are communicated so personally and with a tenderness that represents Dean’s nature and his walk with God, and at the same time demonstrate remarkable toughness, courage and persistence that will challenge the reader. It quickly becomes obvious that Dean, Betty and their family truly did go through the experiences highlighted in this book. The words are alive, personal and descriptive of their generous hearts, physical and mental toughness, and commitment to under-served people. Their dedication and “all in” attitude toward building trust and working relationships with others less fortunate is significant, powerful and challenging. Dean accomplished his goal of recording and communicating special, precious times shared as a family that is indeed a legacy of hope, trust and courage. Furthermore, the challenge to grasp the incredible truth of God’s love for each and all becomes obvious.
