something is up, directs his most stealthy soldier to follow and protect

the princess, but Deasha’s journey will take her outside the safety of

embrace others, and she will have a new understanding of what is

important in her life.

“Deasha, listen to the birds, and the wind. We must always listen to and

protect this land. We must do the same until the end of our days and

beyond!”

Book Excerpt

Ebad thought to himself, “Baby sitter! After all my years of training for battle and my many victories. I’m now a babysitter!”

He was grumbling to himself as he scaled the trees moving through the canopy above the children.

“Why me?” Thought Ebad, “I’ve trained hard, I’ve served well…”He heard the jingling again, but then it was gone. “Baby sitter.” he mumbled crossing a branch high above the forest floor.

As he was walking the length of a branch, he opened his mouth to let out a self pitying and silent, “AHH”. Just then a bug flew into his mouth, choking him. He lost his footing. He slipped and fell straddling the branch. He wanted to scream out in pain, but knew he couldn’t. He coughed out the bug and tried to regain his balance and strength. But it was no use. He simply rolled off the branch and hit the forest floor about 20 feet below. Striking branches as he fell. “Thud”! His body hit the ground crushing the leaves and brush. Fortunately Babo and Mamite didn’t hear his landing or his pain. They were too busy eating and laughing at each other.

As Ebad looked up, he was face to face with a King Cobra. The Cobra stared back at Ebad with it’s black lifeless eyes. The air was now silent, there seemed to be no motion other than Ebad’s and the snake’s. No longer could he hear the children or the breeze moving the trees. It seemed as if time stood still.
